The AC Unit
The AC Unit was formed by a group of UNT jazz studies alumni as a way to create a space for their own original music and voices to be heard. After a foray into heavier genres of music, the band felt they needed to go back to their jazz roots, and thus The AC Unit was formed.
Lead by bassist and composer Anthony Casolari, the group blends jazz with everything from rock, eatern european classical music, to hip hop to create a unique sonic experience for the listener. Whether it be a reharmonized version of a song by The Police with the meter changed to 7/4, a salsa version of a Black Sabbath classic, or a Chappen Roan song done as a baiao, The AC Unit always strives to create a wholly unique listening experience for the audience at every show.
The band also frequently features the likes of Joshua Cossette on Piano and Keyboards, Adam McGrath on Guitar, and Josh Parker on drums
